If you're like most homeowners, you purchased a homeowners policy when you bought your home and you never looked back. Unfortunately, many homeowners don't realize their coverage is lacking until they file their first claim or discover it's overpriced for the current market until shopping around. Yet, most people would tell you that their policy is "just fine" the way it is.
At Crosspointe Insurance Advisors, we take great pride in helping our clients learn a lot about the products we sell. Unless you thoroughly understand the coverage options on your policy, you could be putting your home and your family at risk.

Most of the basic coverage options on an HO-3 Homeowners Policy may seem self-explanatory, but they should be reevaluated from time to time. Special options called "Endorsements" can also be critical to your policy's performance at the time of a claim. Endorsements can include specific language about the guaranteed replacement cost to rebuild your home, which can be modified to allow for an extended limit of up to 25 percent if the reconstruction costs run higher. It can also protect you against the effects of inflation in the event of a loss.
Most homeowners neglect to include their personal property, such as jewelry, computers, antiques and other items that may exceed their normal policy limits. Details about the theft coverage may also be included in the policy endorsements, and should include enough coverage to replace the personal contents of your home. Other endorsements may include coverage against credit card forgery, identity theft or other losses that may be incurred from a forged check or promissory note.
At Crosspointe, our property insurance specialists are well versed in all aspects of homeowners' insurance policies, and they take the time to get to know the specific needs of each client. If you are unsure about whether your current homeowners policy is adequate, then let our Crosspointe insurance specialists recommend the right policy at the right price.
In addition to regular homeowners insurance, Crosspointe can help you with a Renters Insurance policy, Landlord Insurance or Condominium Insurance coverage.
